Spreading The Holiday Cheer at the 21st Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

Dec 19, 2022

IMG_5548We’re suckers for tradition at Monroe Truck Equipment, and the annual Lighted Christmas Parade is no exception! This is the 21st year of the Green Country tradition, and we were especially honored this year to have Santa himself on our truck!

Each year Green County Tourism and the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry organize this festive parade as a way to bring the community together for some holiday cheer! Area organizations and businesses decorate floats and vehicles (we of course decorated a truck) and join local dancers, singers, marching bands and others and promenade down Monroe’s Main Street to be enjoyed by spectators of all ages.

Participants passed out candy to the children and after the parade there was a meet-and-greet at Santa’s Headquarters in the Wisconsin Bank & Trust where kids could take photos with Santa and let him know what is on their wish list this year. Immediately following the parade each kid received a tasty treat as well as a take-home craft kit.

Additionally, there were plenty of winter festival activities in the square including carolers, firepits, and more.

After the main festivities, we joined Santa and other area businesses for a visit to each senior care facility in town so they can participate in the holiday cheer, because all of our community deserves to get in on the fun!

We are so grateful to be able to partake in this celebration every year. Thank you to the Monroe Truck Equipment volunteers who helped to decorate, drive in the parade and pass out treats during the event. Merry Christmas to all!
